MOVEMENT
”No matter what is going on,
Never Give Up.
Develop the heart.
Too much energy in our country is spent on developing the mind instead of the heart.
Be compassionate, not just to your friends but to everyone.
Be compassionate. Work for peace in your Heart and in the world.
I say again Never Give Up.
No Matter what is happening.
No matter what is going on around you.
Never Give up.”
- Dalai Lama

Two days ago, I had a day off from my Northeast Tour while in PA. A friend from Nashville, who recently moved to Delaware, set up a little show in Newark for myself and the band I’m on the road with. It was a nice evening with some good folks. Here is a little bootleg video shot from that night. Hope you dig.

My life since April has been a whirlwind of travel, transition, and creation. After reaching my Kickstarter goal of 25 thousand dollars with help from so many giving wonderful people, I began recording my first debut record “It Dont Come Easy”. The process has been such a privilege and honor for me. The opportunity to record with the likes of Reggie Young, Brad Pemberton, Jon Graboff, Dave Jacuqes, Gabe Dixon, Neal Cappellino and Will Harrison has made my year. I couldnt ask for a more talented, loving, and sincere group of musicians. The group dynamic and each individual player brought incredible energy and life to the record. It really was all I could ever ask for.
Recording analog has been a real gift and a challenge. In this format the quick easy fixes and clicks of the digital world dont exist in the analog world. Full takes are the goal. The focus becomes all about capturing a magic moment in time. Everything shifts to heart instead of flawless execution and technique. The question becomes “how does the track feel deep down?” instead of “Does the track sound right?”. As always, I am growing in my understanding of what truly matters in music. The journey is humbling to say the least. The respect I have for musicians of the old days has skyrocketed as I slowly grasp the true effort and energy it takes to create a record in this way.
Currently all the main tracking for the record is finished. We are now working on over-dubs- which consist of aux. percussion, back ground vocals and some extra guitar work. Things are moving at a healthy speed and each day we are moving closer to the complete picture of this project.
I hope everyone is excited as I am about the record to come! Josh Goleman, a extraordinary photographer from NYC, came down to shoot in the studio while we were tracking the main instrumentation. here is a preview of what he captured. These pictures make me smile.
